Introduction
What’s happening everyone!? I struck out on the Taxi Shock Drop today so I’m glad I secured my pair early.
Video
Hey what's happening, everybody, it's your old pal Mr butter.
Coming back at you, I got all these shoes together and I wanted to do this review I've been wanting to do this review for a while, because it's a topic that I'm really interested in but uh started raining out as it has been lately, came out front and they're clearing the lot across the way.
They're building new houses down across the street, so apologies for the construction noise I'm trying to put out all this content, so I got to make videos whenever I, possibly can sometimes so bear with me.
I'm glad you're here watching it if you're into kicks- and you feel like hanging out then hit that subscribe button now to preface this I did a poll not too long ago on my channel asking people if they wore mids.
Why or why? Not! A lot of people said absolutely not never.
You know it was about half and half actually, which it kind of surprised me but I, guess the more I think about it.
You know a lot of people are just dead set.
They don't wear mids at all.
I think there's kind of a stigma that goes along with mids like it's an inferior shoe like it's, you know kind of second choice to Jordan one high always, and for me, that's not the case and I'm going to show you why, here in a minute, I've got a couple different pairs of Jordan one highs and mids that I want to show you all.
This is the taxis.
This is a Jordan one, high OG.
Now this pair is going to be a problem.
I feel like I, think this pair of highs, even though the height for highs has cooled down.
This pair is dope.
I.
Think a lot of people have really been waiting for this for a long time, but I want to look at these OG highs.
I want to look at these Jordan 1 mids, which are in an extremely close colorway.
It's got that taxi, yellow.
Instead of of having the sale that the taxis have the highs, this reverse: yellow toe has a white base, and, aside from that, the colors are basically identical on these shoes right now, I'm wearing the pollens.
This is no G High and I also want to reference these mids, which are actually one of my personal favorites and we'll get into why that is here in a second.
The price is always more for Jordan 1 highs than what it is on.
Mids I'm not really going to talk about resell too much, because that doesn't really determine why I do or don't like a shoe I like a shoe that I think looks good on feet and I like the style of it, but the material on this pair is absolutely far better than what it is on these Jordan one mitts on this Taxi.
Hopefully y'all can see that.
But the leather on this feels like real leather.
It feels soft.
It looks more high-end, of course, it's higher being a Jordan one high and on the mid, it's not as high as the OG high and this leather.
You don't see that texture and it's got a much more synthetic feel.
It's not soft it it's easy to clean, but it creases a lot worse.
It creases a lot differently than what these soft OG highs do in this nice leather.
Another difference is on the tongue, of course, for the OG High you get Nike, Air branding and on the mids.
You typically get a Jordan 1 Jumpman tag, and now that to me that doesn't really make any difference to me, but I know for some people, that's kind of like a deal breaker, but a lot of things that are similar are like even on the mid you'll see that Jordan one wings logo, just like you see on the high and obviously you can tell that all these panels look very very close to each other.
The style to me is very similar.
These highs do have a much more Sleek look and that's not just in this example.
I've noticed that kind of across the board for Mid.
Sometimes the toe box is just kind of like a little bit more bloated feeling, whereas for highs the toe box has more of like a Sleek kind of streamline appearance.
Materials on the highs are much better, but the price tag is a lot more and for the longest time Jordan won highs.
They were real hard to get so a lot of times.
If I couldn't get a Jordan one high in a colorway that I really wanted I'd buy the mid and I would not feel bad Rock in the mid I would just figure well I gotta, wait for that colorway until the next time it comes out in the high here recently highs.
The hype has kind of died off, but again I think that this pair, in particular I think these might be a little bit more difficult to get than all the OG highs that have been dropping this year.
But that being said, this pair was I, think 125 dollars and they're still sitting on the Nike app I've had this pair for a couple weeks now and they are still available on the Nike app.
This pair will not sit on the app and even though the hype has died down, these taxis will not sit.
So if you want these and you get an opportunity to get them better jump on it because they are going to go and I think resale will be decent.
For these.
This shoe is typically 50 or 60 bucks more than what this one is.
I think this one will retail for 180, whereas this one retailed for 125.
So although materials aren't as good on mids, usually they don't cost as much as the highs, so I mean if you would expect it to be the same.
Quality I mean that'd kind of be a little bit silly.
So you just kind of gotta.
You get what you pay for I guess in that sense between these two shoes, I would definitely say that I really prefer this one, but that is not always the case and I'm gonna talk about the other pairs that I have here just to kind of hammer home that point.
This is a pair of mids that I got I, think from 2017, and these are referred to as the reverse, new love and I.
Don't know if you can tell by looking at it on camera or not, but the material on these.
This is not leather.
This is not synthetic leather.
This is what I guess.
People will usually refer to as durable, so it's got that kind of fake suede, fake nubuck feel it almost feels like satin, or something like that.
It's just got a real soft feel to it and I like it I like the way that it looks I like the way that it feels on feet.
This black has stayed real dark and the yellow has stayed nice and bright, and this is one of my favorite pairs of Kicks On My, Feet, I'm wearing the pollen OG has and I really really like the pollens.
The materials are absolutely higher end than this pair, but if I were to go on the resale market and buy the pollens, it would cost me a lot less than what it would cost me for these mitts and for some reason these reverse new love.
Mids are pretty expensive, they're pretty sought after I.
Don't know how high numbers were these, but I love the way they look on feet.
I actually prefer the look on feet of these mids to these pollens and I love.
These pollens I'm not knocking them.
The materials on these pollens are far superior to the materials on these mids.
However, these were a gift from my wife back in 2017.
I think she got them for me for either my birthday or our anniversary, and it was when I had just finished going back to school.
We didn't have the funds that we had now and my sneaker game wasn't as excessive as it is right now and not only do I think these look really cool, but these hold a lot of sentimental value to me just because they remind me of that period of my life and at that time spending the 115 on these was a lot harder than what it is to spend, 170 or 180 on the highs is now.
These have just always been special to me.
So if I were going to turn these or the pollens into a beater, I'd I'd wear the pawns through the muck and the mire way before I'd wear these out into the mug, because I treasure these These are dear to my heart.
But my point: is they all look dope to me and if you don't like the way a Jordan one mid looks and then that's fine, that's everybody has their own opinion and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
However, don't buy into the hype that a Jordan one mid is somehow inferior to a Jordan.
One high I just say: buy what you like: wear what you like.
The price tag doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter how many numbers of a shoe are produced.
If you like the way that it looks, then you rock it and you rock it with pride and confidence, a lot of people don't like mids and that's fine by me.
However I this is probably in my top five pairs of shoes and just because of what I mentioned before they just mean a lot to me and they look dope and, of course, I'm a Pittsburgh fan for everything, but I've got no shortage of black and yellow, but don't let the hype dictate what you like.
Don't let the hype dictate.
What is important to you, if you like something, if you love something rock it and know that that's all that matters, you know it doesn't really matter what the masses say, because they all kind of look the same.
You know honestly of the four pairs of shoes that I showed you.
This pair of mids means way more to me than what the rest of them do and now that I'm thinking about it I mean I got the fragment lows: I've got off-white Lots I've got a lot of shoes that are extremely sought after the stuff that hypebeest dream of you know.
However, they can't replace this.
You know what I mean.
This is special, so please, whenever you're going after sneakers, just don't let the hype control, what you like, get what you like, wear what you like and just know that you're killing it anyhow I hope you all have a great day.
I'm gonna head inside I'm out.
